natural and creative blooms

Like the tightly clustered buds in the early Spring trees,

perched on the edge of unfolding—

tiny leaves beginning to push their way toward

the burgeoning sunlight—

on the cusp of unleashing their color and

beauty into the world—

I find myself also starting to

awaken in a new form,

feeling the pull of the warmth and light

anticipatory trembling in my limbs and mind,

trying to imagine what

I might become

when fully unfurled and exposed

to the world
